Installing a custom ROM like LineageOS is one of the most rewarding ways to breathe new life into an older smartphone. It provides a clean, bloat-free, and highly customizable operating system. However, because of open-source licensing restrictions, LineageOS does not come pre-loaded with Google services.
(based on Android 12.1/12L), you’ll notice something missing: the Google Play Store. Since LineageOS aims for a clean, "de-Googled" experience, you have to manually install a GApps (Google Apps) package to get your favorite services back.
Happy flashing.
Most modern smartphones use ARM64 . Ensure you select this rather than ARM or x86.
If you make the mistake of booting into LineageOS 19.1 before flashing GApps, The system will undergo a setup configuration without Google services present, leading to constant crash loops later. If you do this, you will need to perform a Factory Reset , re-flash LineageOS, and then flash GApps immediately afterward. gapps for lineage os 191 link
