You must install and run SFM with Administrator privileges. If you are on Windows 10/11, do not install it in C:\Program Files (x86) . Use a neutral folder like C:\MSTS\Utils\ or C:\Train Simulator\Utils .

Before uncompressing or scaling any .s file, create a copy of the original file (e.g., locomotive.s.bak ).
