The most transformative addition in the v2.0 cycle was for user-created audio files, allowing producers to use any sound as a source within Omnisphere's powerful synthesis engine. This feature opened up limitless sound creation possibilities, turning Omnisphere into a hybrid instrument that can process and manipulate your own samples with the same depth as its core library. Version 2.0.3d also introduced major oscillator enhancements, including over 400 new DSP waveforms—100 times more than the original version—and new morphing wavetable synthesis capabilities. On the effects side, v2.0.3d significantly expanded the effects rack with 25 new processors, including vintage modulation effects, new distortion and classic amp modeling, envelope filtering effects, new studio-grade compressors and equalizers, and some radically new creative effects. The patch library grew substantially with 780 brand new patches that took advantage of all the new sound design capabilities, bringing the total number of included sounds to over 8,000.
